Hello I'm Lindsey
Hello I'm Lindsey
For many years I practiced as a nutritional therapist (Recovery Nutrition), where I had the honour of supporting 1000s of people who wanted to change their lives. The focus was mainly on nutrition and genetics, both of which can be very helpful (perhaps foundational) in supporting addiction recovery and ongoing mental health.
As my own recovery* progressed, I trained and qualified in other modalities that supported my own journey. The name Recovery Nutrition no longer covered everything I offer to clients, hence the name change.
And why ‘unaddicted’? Because these days, mostly, I feel unaddicted. I say mostly because when I’m under stress and forget to look after myself well, some behavioural addictions can sneak in. I have learned to treat myself with compassion, and be grateful that I am free of substance addictions, but I am a work in progress.
My approach is a combination of science and heart-led insight to the human condition. I help clients go beyond presenting symptoms, seeing them as part of a whole rather than isolated things to mend.
Whether you are struggling with mood and energy levels; or the guilt and shame of an unwanted behaviour; or a desire to release an old habit that keeps you locked in, I offer understanding, insight and practical know-how.
All my offerings - workshops, yoga classes and retreats - provide a space to have meaningful discussions with humour, kindness and absolutely no judgement. I offer spaces where you can connect with others and find peace within yourself.
I don't have all the answers, but my personal experience of addiction recovery and my professional expertise can help you lay the groundwork.
* I became sober in 2015, after a long-term alcohol addiction. I quit nicotine a couple of years later (heavy smoker turned nicotine gum & lozenge fiend). I struggled with binge-eating intermittently throughout my life.
“I cannot thank you enough Lindsey, the whole experience has been invaluable. Helping others from a platform of your own life experience means you can be truthful and open with your support.”
